CAPV (the Czech Educational Research Association) is a professional association whose mission is to further education via educational research and mutual communication among scholars in educational research, policy and practise, and to disseminate the findings of educational research. Educational research is understood in its broad, interdisciplinary way that includes all research activities within diverse fields of education and schooling. CAPV is committed to upholding high professional standards in ethical educational research according to the CAPV Ethical Guidelines.
CAPV is a member of the European Educational Research Association (EERA) and it is also a member of the Council of Scientific Societies of the Czech Republic at the Czech Academy of Sciences.
CAPV’s main office is located at the Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. CAPV is governed by the Executive Board consisting of five elected members. The current president is assoc. prof. Jana Poláchová Vašťatková, Ph.D.
CAPV’s most distinctive activities include annual conferences with workshops focussing on different methodological approaches for both experienced and emerging researchers, academics as well as teachers and other scholars, organised since 1992. Every two months app. 250 members receive the electronic CAPV’s bulletin reflecting current events in the association and in educational research mainly in the Czech Republic.
Membership: Anybody who is through his/her research activity connected to education in various fields (pedagogy, adult education, educational psychology, sociology, etc.), can become a member of the CAPV. Membership is also open to people who are not actively involved in research but who use its findings in practice.
